A fine hotel which is set in the wonderful Terra Nostra Botanical Park in the Furnas Valley. The gardens cover an area of more than 12 hectares and abound with exotic flowers, trees and birdlife. All along the pathways you will find centuries-old trees imported from the Americas, Australia, China and South Africa. The park is ablaze with colour and there is a thermal lake and an intriguing walk along the riverbank. The hotel itself was part of the USA consul, which has now been transformed into fine art deco accommodation. This is an excellent retreat and the official 3 star rating seriously understates its quality.
