A rural retreat in a stunning location overlooking the rugged north coast, Quinta Do Furão is part of an agricultural estate of vineyards and organic crops.

The main hotel building has beamed lounges and open fires complementing comfortable bedrooms. The panoramic restaurant and a cosy bar are in a separate building, which also houses a wine bar and cellar where some of the best vintages of the island can be found…all produced on the estate. The surrounding area offers splendid walks and is an ideal base to explore the pick of the island’s scenic attractions.

All 43 rooms are with heating and have bath and shower, TV and a room safe. All have twin or double beds and most have a balcony with at least a partial ocean view.

Wine Festival Guests at the hotel are encouraged to participate in the harvesting of the grapes. This event normally takes place during the first week of September. The day starts with picking the grapes which is followed by a traditional and convivial lunch provided free of charge by the hotel. Afterwards the more adventurous are invited to enter the vats and 'tread the grapes'!
