Funchal 2 nights – Porto Santo 2 nights – Rural Retreat 3 nights
Day 1 |
Arrive Funchal and transfer to the Quinta da Bela Vista (page 66) for 2 nights room and breakfast. The remainder of the day will be at leisure. |
Day 2 |
Full day island tour with lunch included. The tour includes villages, viewing points, Cabo Girao (the World’s second highest sea cliff), mountains, valleys and an exciting meander along the old road of the north coast leading to the lava rock pools of Porto Moniz. Continue through the mountains with a stop at the Pousada dos Vinhaticos before returning to your hotel. |
Day 3 |
After breakfast transfer to the ferry for your 2½ hours crossing to Porto Santo. On arrival you are met and transferred to the Porto Santo Hotel (page 56) for 2 nights room and breakfast. In the afternoon there is a short sightseeing tour of Porto Santo. |
Day 4 |
Day at leisure. |
Day 5 |
Day free until late afternoon transfer to the harbour for the return ferry to Funchal, Madeira. Your hire car will be delivered to the harbour at Funchal for the 50 minutes drive to the Quinta do Furao for 3 nights room and breakfast. |
Day 6 -7 |
These are free days where local activities can be arranged from the hotel. |
Day 8 |
Drive to the airport for your homeward flight to the UK or continue your stay in Madeira. |
