Alternatively we offer a wide range of flights to Funchal in Madeira from the following regional departure airports. London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Luton, Exeter and East Midlands to Funchal.

The island of Porto Santo lies 37km northeast of Madeira and can now be reached by a new direct flight from London Gatwick commencing May 2008.
The population is barely 5,000 and much of the activity centres on the small town of Vila Baleira where there are a few beach hotels, some restaurants and a night spot which is located away from the hotels. Christopher Columbus came to Porto Santo and married the first governor’s daughter here, and their pretty stone house is now the island’s museum, housing maps, paintings, engravings and details of Columbus’ life.
For Porto Santo holidays the main attraction is the splendid 9km long sandy beach. Porto Santo beaches are renowned as having therapeutic properties and with its year round dry climate and clear, warm ocean waters, Porto Santo is an ideal destination for those wishing to revitalise body and mind, with swimming and sunbathing possible year round. On a Porto Santo holiday the emphasis is on quiet, peaceful beach holidays with low-key activities in an unspoiled location.
Many watersports are available with diving, swimming, sailing, canoeing and fishing being the most popular.
Walking is also a popular pastime and since the island is mainly rural and only 11km long most of it can be covered quite easily in a naturally silent landscape with only cows and goats for company.
The Porto Santo Golf Course, designed by Seve Ballesteros, opened in late 2005 and offers two 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole pitch and putt course. The complex also features 8 tennis courts and a horseriding centre.
