Originally a famous restaurant, Su Gologone developed into an hotel on the reputation of its cuisine, and in particular for its traditional Sardinian specialities such as the daily ritual of a spit roast on the open fire. Built in a style, which offers more than a glimpse of rural Sardinia, it has managed to blend modern requirements with traditional values. It comprises five buildings on two storeys housing bedrooms with exquisite furnishings and interesting colours. Works of art valued at more than a million pounds are displayed throughout the hotel. Its country style ambience is further embellished by a spring-fed swimming pool, mini-golf, and tennis courts, all set in lovely gardens with scented flowers and secret corners. The hotel also organises Land Rover safaris into the Barbagia mountains, and hiking is a popular pastime.
ROOMS AND VIEWS 65 air-conditioned rooms with bath or shower and w.c, and mountain view. Air-conditioning is at the discretion of the management, and is usually available at least in July and August. ROMANTIC OPTIONS Honeymooners booking a minimum of 7 nights are entitled to a reduction of £70 per couple.

A marvellous retreat more like a stately home than a hotel, and especially attractive for those discerning clients wishing to acquaint themselves with some traditional Sardinian values and delicious cuisine. Ideal as a two centre holiday with the Hotel La Rocca on page 83. Car hire essentiaL. Due to its rural and distant location we do not provide visits by our representatives, who are nevertheless contactable through the hotel. |
