The excursions described below are according to 2004 prices and departure days which may differ in 2005. Meals and entrance fees are not included in the price unless specifically stated. The operation of excursions may depend on weather and road/sea conditions and the number of clients wishing to participate.

Monday Full Day Julian Alps by bus @ £22 per person

Pass through the popular sports resort of Kranjska Gora, driving through the spectacular Vrsic Pass. Visit the quaint Russian Chapel, built in the memory of Russian prisoners of war. Descend into the beautiful alpine valley of Trenta before stopping for lunch at Bovec. Cross the border for a glimpse of the Italian Alps.
 

Wednesday Half Day Ljubliana @ £18.50 per person

A trip to the Slovenian capital viewing baroque architecture, the outdoor market, castle hill or a relaxing walk along the river visiting one of the many coffee bars along the way.

Thursday Half Day Postojna Caves @ £31.50 per person 

Visit the mysterious world of these caves, shaped and created by millions of years. Ride the special cave train which takes you on a fascinating tour of the many stalactites and stalagmites. Warm clothes and shoes are recommended. 

Sunday Full Day Lipica, Postojna Caves @ £43 per person

Combine the Postojna Caves with a visit to the world famous "Lippizzaner" stud farm. Enjoy an exclusive glimpse of the horses performing one of their classical routines. Warm clothes and walking shoes recommended. 


Sunday Half Day Vrata and Pericnik @ £17.50 per person

Pass through the beautiful alpine village of Mojstrana to the Vrata Valley on route to Slovenia's highest mountain, Mt. Triglav. Refreshments followed by viewing of the magnificent Pericnik Waterfall which descents 170 feet.


Tuesday Full Day to the Slovenian Adriatic @ £34.50 per person

Experience the scenic changes en route to the resort town of Izola. Take a boat trip to the city of Piran. Tour the oldest and most picturesque town on Slovenia's wonderful coastline.
 
Friday Full Day to Venice @ £40 per person

Visit the most romantic city in the world. After crossing the Italian Alps, experience the waterways and narrow streets of a city built on wooden foundations with its monuments, palaces and bridges.

Tuesday Full Day " Taste of Slovenia " @ £30 per person

A train ride to the Primorska region into the valley of the Soca river. Take a romantic lake cruise from the village of Most na Soci to the confluence of the Soca and Idrijca rivers. Sample excellent wines in a Dobrovo wine cellar, followed by a traditional dinner (included in the price) at a local restaurant. 


The Museum Train @ TBA

Departs from Bled, Bohinjska Bistrica to the Soca Valley. From Most na Soci, continue by coach to Kobarid, famous for its award-winning museum. Lunch is served at the Matajur Hotel. Proceed to the village of Dreznica which is famous for its mysterious traditional customs. Admire the carved wooden carnival masks, brandy making and many delicious cheeses. Visit the Sacro Cuore Church, a treasure house of precious art and a private museum exhibiting fascinating collections from the First World War. Return to Most na Soci to board the Museum Train to Bohinjska Bistrica, Bled or Jesenice.
