The famous 19th century romantic poet, Lord Byron said of Montenegro,
“At the birth of our planet, the most beautiful encounter between the land and the sea must have happened at the coast of Montenegro. When the pearls of nature were sown, handfuls of them were cast on this soil.

The Montenegrin Adriatic is a specialist and unique holiday destination and is not overrun by volume tourism. It is a country of fascinating contrasts with imposing mountains, glacial lakes, crystal-clear rivers, deep canyons and a gentle coastline of expansive beaches composed of rock and small pebbles to the finest golden sand.

There are 117 beaches, of which the longest is 13 kilometres while others can be found in wind-sheltered inlets, bays and coves, many enveloped by olive groves and aromatic pine woods. The waters of the south Adriatic Sea are beautifully clear and warm and are brilliant, blue-green in colour.
